[Style Vault] – Arden B Pastel Mint Green Exposed Shoulder Top

I purchased this top over the weekend from Arden B (yes, you can still purchase it and luckily it’s also on sale now).  I went there looking for something new to wear for Easter and bought this on impulse after trying it on being that I loved it so very much.  Turns out, I did wear this on Easter paired with my David Lerner black leggings, Christian Louboutin nude lace up heels, and some opulent jewelry .  I didn’t get the opportunity to capture the outfit but trust me, I will be wearing this sweater top a lot this season so I will eventually showcase it in an upcoming [OUtfit Post].

Style Confession:  Although mint green is majorly trending right now, I have always had a love for mint green. It’s one of my favorite colors so I’m really happy that it’s much easier to find during my shopping expeditions.

Besides the color, I LOVE exposed shoulders (such as cut outs as seen here or off shoulder tops).  The style is very interesting and hard to come by for some reason.

PS- Believe it or not, I bought this top in a size large.  They only had a large and XS but being I like my tops a little longer in length, I went with the size large.  It actually didn’t even look like a large, I picked up it thinking it was a small or medium and then was completely fooled by the label.  Goes to show, you have to ALWAYS try something on, every piece is made differently, so sizes always vary.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Rouge (I’m BEYOND Ecstatic for these) – Find Out Madonna’s Signature Shade from the Collection

MAKE UP FOR EVER Aqua Rouge

I just discovered a few days ago that MAKE UP FOR EVER recently launched, Aqua Rouge, which is a collection of waterproof liquid lip colors in twelve shades.  I’m beyond ecstatic for these because I find that 80-90% of the time, I wear waterproof double ended lip products (my collection consists of mainly MAC and Lorac).  The only problem is, Lorac recently discontinued all of them (a few months ago, I fell in love with a color they made called, “First Kiss” only to sadly discover a few months later they were discontinuing them so I had to stock up through their website as it was already pulled from Sephora) and MAC just recently discontinued a ton of their prolong wear double ended lip products.  A week ago, I had to pick up “Lasting Lust” prolong wear as it is getting discontinued and I may never see it again.  It’s the ONLY red I wear so the thought of never having it again is pretty devastating (to say the least)!

Okay, so being that many of these products are going extinct, it’s absolutely delightful to find that MAKE UP FOR EVER has created their own line of waterproof liquid lip colors.  (And when I say waterproof, I mean that you will need an oil based makeup remover to get it off).  I got a chance to stop by Sephora and already have a beauty wish list of the shades I want.  Going based on a first glance and then swatching it on my hand, I’m most interested in #1, #5, #13, and #15.

I also just recently read that Madonna’s longtime makeup artist Gina Brooke collaborated with MAKE UP FOR EVER and helped create the shade, “Iconic Red” (#8) for Madonna that will also serve as one of her makeup staples for her MDNA Tour.  (I’m going to see Madonna in October when she tours in Arizona…very excited!  I’ll be sure to keep my eyes open for her “Iconic Red” lip color!)

[New Shower Treat] – Thymes Agave Nectar Body Wash

I recently ran out of all my body washes around the same time and I wanted to look for something new.  I actually have been using bar soaps more often these days (specifically from The Body Shop, the coconut is my favorite), partially due to the body wash shortage and I just have been liking soaps much better lately.  However, regardless, I like to switch it up so I’m not using the same thing every day, so variety is key.  I just discovered Thymes Agave Nectar Body Wash and LOVE it!

A few months back, I wrote about another Agave Nectar product I discovered so it was nice to find another one to my liking.  It has a light citrus scent and I especially love it being it’s an all-natural product and free from harsh chemicals (such as sodium laurel sulfate).

More specifically, they describe this scent (which is categorized in their citrus category):

“VIBRANT, SPARKLING AND JUICY, CITRUS NOTES ARE MADE BY EXTRACTING THE ESSENTIAL OILS OF SUN-RIPENED FRUITS, SUCH AS LEMONS, GRAPEFRUIT, LIME, MANDARIN AND NEROLI.”

This is my new favorite body wash and I definitely want to try out other products by Thymes in the future.

[Style Inspiration Board] – July 2012

Here’s a look at what I’m inspired by this month…

* orange lipstick - As experimental as I am with my makeup, this is the first season I’m wearing orange lipstick and I’m totally loving it.  Besides being completely on trend, it’s also incredibly flattering!

* nude studded peep toe heels - The shoes that are showcased this month are by Alexander McQueen and they are absolutely glorious.  I can’t think of a better way to describe them!  They’re truly jaw dropping beautiful (okay, that’s another way I’d describe them)!

* white bandage dress - I love white dresses this season and like the gold cross embellishments.  They add a nice stylish touch to a simple silhouette.

* hot pink cuff watch - I love a watch that not only serves as a functional piece to capture time, but also one that captures a fashion statement.  The bold neon color with the gold hardware along with its thick cuff style makes this piece the ultimate time statement piece.  (If you couldn’t tell, I REALLY want this!!!  I’m seriously considering ordering this too, it’s just too fabulous to pass up!)

* gold python bag - I love anything metallic gold and anything python.  So surely this bag makes my stylish list this month without question. 

* aztec printed crop top - I like crop tops generally speaking and thrilled to see them pop up more and more every season.  (Not everyone has been rocking crop tops as long as I have and it’s just refreshing to see a wider selection of them).  The aztec print with the crossed back makes this a stellar piece to add to your wardrobe.  I’d style it with a high waisted pair of shorts or a skirt is also a nice alternative.

[New Beauty Treat] – Farmhouse Fresh Agave Nectar Ageless Body Oil

Over the weekend, I discovered a wonderful bath and body shop called, “The Soap Opera Company” in New Hope, PA.  There are apparently other locations and this location just opened a couple weeks ago.  They had such an amazing selection of products!  It was fun to look and play with everything.  I ended up discovering a new body oil that I’m in love with!

I have always been a fan of oils (both for the face and body).  When it comes to body care, I prefer an oil over a lotion any day.  I like that oils give a nice dewey glow to the skin and I feel that they penetrate the skin more effectively.  It’s so hard to find a good body oil and the only one I currently own and have used for years is the Origins Ginger Gloss smoothing body oil.  I like the scent of it but after awhile, I do get bored with it so it was refreshing to discover Farmhouse Fresh Agave Nectar Ageless Body Oil.

What I Love Most:  The scent is described as a milk and oat scent although I feel like it smells more like whipped cream.  It has a light, buttery cream scent with a hint of sweetness which is heavenly!  It leaves the skin with a sexy glow (but not greasy).

I have been using this after I shower which is also the recommended usage.  I also love that this is made with an agave nectar which is a natural sweetener.  I actually just recently started using agave nectar in place of sugar when I bake, so this was another reason why I was attracted to the product from the get-go.  FYI, it is 96% all natural and paraben/sulfate free!  I’m all about all natural beauty products!

The FHF Agave Nectar Ageless Body Oil also happens to be a Kim Kardashian favorite along with making Oprah’s O-List. (Personally, I couldn’t care less as I don’t need to rely on the celebrities for their beauty/style choices, but thought it would is worth mentioning).
