The 84th Annual Academy Awards was held in Los Angeles this past Sunday and although I was not home to physically watch it live (and we all know I couldn’t care less, I just want to see what everyone is wearing!), I did get a chance to fashion scope the big night to see who really shined, leaving the best stylish impressions of the evening.
[FYI: In case you are wondering how I make my decisions, I'm not just judging on the dress itself, but also the actual FIT of the dress and other styling elements that complete the final look (hair, makeup, etc). I cannot stress enough that a dress could be exceptionally beautiful, but if it does not flatter the client, it won't make my best dressed list! At the end of the day, I'm all about visual aesthetics!]

Stacy Keibler in Marchesa - This was by far the most STUNNING look of the evening. The silhouette is not only unique but exquisitely beautiful to look at. The draping and proportions are simply perfect. I also love the metallic gold fabric, it looks like liquid gold spun onto her body. Seriously, this is breathtaking! I like her soft makeup and hair to the side. The earrings and clutch add a nice stylish touch to complete the look.

Jennifer Lopez in Zuhair Murad - This dress is not only glamourous but also very intriguing. There are a lot of styling elements going on at one time but they all compliment each other so nicely. I love how this dress is tasteful and still incredibly sexy. I love anything with cut-outs at the shoulders and the vertical stripes are hypnotizing. Jennifer Lopez can do no wrong in my book! She always gets it right and knows how to accentuate her curves in all the right places.

Angelina Jolie in Atelier Versace - Isn't it amazing how something as simple as a little black dress can still manage to make such a high styling impact? Let me tell you why this works. For one, there is a high contrast between the black against her super fair skin. Then the dramatically high slit exposing her leg and the draping effect against the neckline contrasted against her small waist. There are a lot of visual contrasts and this is what makes this eye catching and remarkably stylish. Her bold red lips also make a statement and ultimately complete the final look.
[Who do you think dressed the best for the Oscars this year? (Am I forgetting anyone)?]
