Finally…A Chip Free Manicure – Sally Hansen Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat

I ran out of a nail base coat a couple months ago and figured I could use a top coat as a base coat or even a clear nail polish. It turned out, that it wasn’t really working so I decided to find a base coat and came across Sally Hansen’s Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat while I was at a drugstore.
Typically, I don’t like the idea of having a two-in-one nail product, but couldn’t really find one that was a base coat only.
This is stuff is beyond amazing. For the first time ever, I’ve noticed a substantial difference in the staying power of a manicure (when I do it myself). I used a single coat as a base and then after a few minutes, applied two coats of a nail polish followed by this polish as a top coat. My current manicure has not chipped at all and it’s been exactly a week!
I know that it’s the Sally Hansen base/top coat that is making a difference because the nail polish color I used (Orly’s “Cotton Candy” – FYI I’m obsessed with this shade), I had used it a few weeks ago without this product and it chipped within a couple days. The manicure was pretty much destroyed (I could peel the polish right off myself) in less than five days. I thought it was because the Orly polish was poor quality but it was because I didn’t have the right base coat!
[Does anyone else have a base/top coat that they recommend?]

Thanks for making this recommendation of using Sally Hansen’s nail polish. I usually don’t know what is a good product when it comes to nail treatment. :-)
