My St. Patrick’s Day Inspired Look – A Touch of Green!

Hope everyone had a nice St. Patrick’s Day (regardless if you’re Irish or not!!  I’m actually part Irish myself [my father's mother is German and Irish] although no one would ever guess it!)

Anyhow, I’m really sorry to have not posted this yesterday, I honestly had all intentions of doing so, but never made it back home early enough to write the post!  On a positive note, I now have time to break down the look I created for the day.

My St. Patrick's Day Inspired Look!

And whoever said wearing green was just for the St. Patrick’s Day holiday? I actually really LOVE wearing greens on my eyes (if I’m going to go for color) as it’s just captivating and unique.  Personally, I feel greens really play up my exotic features!

Here is a closer look at the makeup along with a list of all the products I used below:

Up close and personal with the green eye makeup!

Eyes:

I wanted to create a look that had various shades of green with a little bit of a gold in the inner corner.  It’s hard to imagine I used this many colors, for an everyday look, I usually keep it to  three to four shadows, but I guess for the holidays, I don’t mind going above and beyond!

MAC “Bitter” - I started with this on the whole lid.

MAC “Woodwinked” - I used this just in the inner corner so it faded with gold into a dark green.

MAC “Shimmermoss” – I know you can’t see this at all really, but I used this teal/aqua shade in the WHOLE crease area.

MAC “Humid” – I used this in the outer crease.

MAC “Shadowy Lady” – I tapped just a tiny bit on outer corner of outer crease for extra depth and eye contouring effect.  I LOVE THIS EYE SHADOW and use it A LOT for extra drama.  Sometimes black is too much, but a deep plum is a GREAT alternative.

MAC “Solar White” - My everyday highlight…it’s discontinued so try another highlight (you could use anything, ideally something with a warm/gold tint to it for this look such as “Retrospeck,” but honestly, it could be anything)!

#34 lashes (surprising I know!  I usually wear #48′s but decided to choose a more natural lash)

MAC “Rapidblack” penultimate liquid liner (top), MAC “Minted” kohl pencil (bottom), AND MAC “Graphblack” (bottom)

* For the bottom liner, I did a layering effect, where I layered the green liner first and then some black too over it because I really wanted the liner to stand out.

Cheeks:

I chose a peachy blush, not only because I wear a lot of peach, but I also didn’t want to go too pink (with both the blush and lips).  I think blush could really make or break a look so there should still be some thought when choosing the right blush.

MAC “My Highland Honey” powder blush

(YES, I AM STILL OBSESSED WITH THIS BLUSH FROM THE TARTAN TALE HOLIDAY COLLECTION!  I’m really considering buying a back-up although I have never used a MAC blush in its entirety before.  It is such a staple for me!).

Lips:

Can I just say that I am IN LOVE with this lip combo!  I typically am not a fan of lustre lipsticks, but “Plink!” layered with this pencil and lipgloss is AMAZING!  It’s that PERFECT baby pink!

I always feel a light baby pink looks great paired up with green eye shadows and this combo totally captures the look I’m going for although I plan on wearing this on a more daily basis!

* MAC “In Sync” lip pencil

* MAC “Plink!” lipstick (lustre)

* MAC “Like Venus” dazzleglass

  1. i REALLY REALLY love how you did your eye make-up here!! :D :D i’m a total stickler for gorgeous eye make-up as i believe eyes are the ultimate BEST feature on any face and i also lovelovelove nude lips. (both of which you rocked!) this look is a total hit and shouldn’t just be limited for St. Patrick’s.

    Green eyes are really fun to work with. They have such a wide color range from turqouise to chartreuse to forest green to bright light green and on and on. ^
